Students students, i was wondering if you guys are having trouble with the pronunciation of words… so i’m currently looking for good videos to post here that have audio… and if not, i’ll look for actual audio files and upload them to a folder which i’ll link you guys to from here… would that be useful for you?

Is “sabonji” a turkish word ? & if it is, does it mean one who sells/produce sabon (soap) ?

I have this classmate whose surename is Sabonji & she’s Tanjawiya, & a big deal of Tanjawa are Jbala & Ryafa, & a big deal of Jbala & Ryafa are middle-easterners.

Thnx 3eesha hanim

yes it’s turkish, sabuncu is someone who sells/makes soap

no brobz Mahmut efendi

I told her that, she was like WTH !! i’m turkish
I told her that her 17th grandfather was a mool javeel (cleaning products seller) in Turkey  she was like looooooooool

she was kinda surprised that i did a research on her origins xD

hhhhhhhhhhh you’re a stalker

but really, joke aside that is amazing… i guess she has levantine origins rather than turkish coz mid easterners also use the ji suffix with some of their word endings (syrians etc.), but then again a looooooooooot of mid eastern “arabs” also have turkish origins… i love this stuff
