An old man!!!
Some here have seen others refer to me as Jdido!
@ Habri:
Maybe you can be our Jdido here as well :), if you don’t find it rude to be called so!
@ Sammie:
Oui, en principe tu es la 2ème plus jeune :).
@ Habri:
Maybe you can be our Jdido here as well smile, if you don’t find it rude to be called so!
Assalamu alaikum
The kunya Jdido was a gift. I would never impose myself on others.
Li bghiti ! If you like you may use it; it is just a word/name.
(Please, you may call me faqir, a faqir or habrifaqir, however, I am not Habri, that was the name of the Alim I respect. His family name was Al-Habri!!!)
Okay, we just tend to shorten nicknames when they are long, so I took the first part without thinking.
I can beat ‘Jdido’, I’ve just passed into the 65+ age group !
Can you explain the meaning of Jdido, please.
This is how I interpreted it - which I’m sure is completely wrong -
‘jdid’ = new, plus Spanish -o suffix for masculine
as a kind of joke - opposites old / new. In Australia, boys with red hair are often given the nickname Bluey. (opposites red / blue)
Glad that you are not ‘agist’ and welcome people of any age ! :^^:

Very nice interpretation!
Here is the correct one though:
Jdd = grandfather.
Jdido = Little grandfather.
The similar words I know of are 3mima (paternal auntie) and 3mimo (paternal uncle). Similarly to the way grandmas are called mmima, a diminutive form of mmi, mom.
Thanks for the explanation !
Am I the oldest, I wonder ?
Ana lekebira ?
Imken ila nti hiyya lkbira fina. As long as no one else claims the title, then you are :).
