wellah thats so retarded :S how this pic is gonna help poor women in mountains and countrysides :S they dont even know that femme du maroc exists  … so if someone is worried about the future of the moroccan woman , he must go there and teach those women how to read and write ,help them to know their rights and respo …
not publishing a nude pic that gonna help some muslim extremists to to gather more stupids to their side :(
maddy baby, so youre looking @ it from a practical perspective saying we have more important things to worry about like infrastructure, basic education for women, etc…but what i thought about was from a moral perspective, like damn, ok its sensational, but its just a woman, in my opinion shes not trying to look sexual or anything, this is a real thing, khal9 allah, and there are a lot more pressing moral issues that we should be focusing on like young ppl aichin f boua9a, chmakrin, lkahol, they dont wanna respect their elders, they dont go 2 jma3, pray, tyakolo f wust nahar f ramadan, f z3ama alach i7na rakizin 3la soura wa7ida b7alha laham 7aja…should focus more on programs, education, etc than on blocking the real image of something that does exist…its a pregnant woman so what…maybe it would be better if they chose a better model…i suggest next time they take the picture with this model and see what is the reaction:

still i dont believe in relativism when it comes to images and how culture or values are portrayed, every image is important and has an effect. it reminds me of this image and the argument around it in america…its about my culture…do you know about it?:
Contrary to what you’re thinking, part of a man’s body (belt to knee) is a 3awra too (if you know the word). So it would equally unacceptable to see a man’s naked body on the cover of a magazine.
You’re trying to make it sound like it’s about putting women down as mere sexual objects. So to make you happy, there you go, your argument is down. Come up with something else.
but we see the moroccan football players in short shorts all the time!!!

ps i think its funny nobody mentioned the guy-- I KNOW YOU LOOKED ya LA w ya DL!! lollll

Our dear Achminfar9 ! u just don’t get it…

This is should not even be up to debate, we should not come to the phase when we talk about the way we must see that image or the diference between the image of a man or a women. there’s just no other way !!
there’s a naked women above whom is written “femmes de Maroc” <— for God’s sake.
it’s not up to any phylosophy…it should not have happened at first place.

that’s a challenge, & if nobody stops them they will attack again…if this time the image was a black & white side sight, the next could be colored front sight.

PS , have u ever watched “Marock” ?

hhhh since i got busted i’ll speak up, yes i did see it but saraha i don’t see anything attractive about that image, maybe it’s just me, but the image of a woman is far more alluring than that of a man, me thinks -wellah im straight-. and I also wanna add that i think its a FACT that God created women more attractive than men, and that is why a naked woman is seen as 7chouma but a naked dude isn’t as much, and THAT is why women (in Islam at least) are required to cover up more than men…

yeah i saw it…

so what do u want to say about it? as a movie i thought the plot sucked, some things unrealistic, acting was OK, soundtrack was pretty cool actually.

as an overall statement in the ‘war of morality’ in which there is
just no other way !!
obviously it pushed some boundaries

as what you can see about culture i think there are a lot of interesting things in that film

duuuude the respect o was talkin about is : we r in a muslim country ok ? the majority of the population find this immoral … there r parents tryin to educate their daughters , how do u expect this pic gonna help them ??? duuude we have in morocco nudist beaches and i find it so gooood coz we r respecting a few moroccans who like to show their body to the others … but to pose in a magazine , je trouve ke c tro osé wellah :S

Dialogue: included too much swearing & failthy expressions & meanings.

Plot: it has no plot at first place, the movie is a bunch of events of the empty daily life of a very empty minded portion of the society.

Religion: in many spots in the movie, the religion is being massively stepped on. the first/opening scene for example !

Porn: Catastrovic sex scene is included, besides kissing scenes

Scenes & shots: many occasions contained disrespectful acts, in addition to disrespectful wear by girls & so on…

Language: aproximately 90% of the dialogue is french. that alone is a “moseba”, it’s supposed to be a Moroccan movie…the title says that !

Title: Maroc + Rock (Morocco rocks), <— perhaps ! i can’t find other definitions, unless Layla means thet we should Rock & make an earthquake in Moroccan & Islamc “stupid” (astaghfirullah) tradition.

Director: Layla Mrrakshi is a typical “femme du Maroc” ! i didn’t watch any other works by her, but Marock is enough to tell, in fact the sex scene alone is enough.

Briefly, what’s above is the elements of a cheap Holywood movie, not a movie that shows Morocco to the world.
Many guys were interested to watch it, all because they heard about the porn scenes & stuff, but after watching they all told me the same : “Layla must be executed”

had sata mata9acharch malha fin katshab rasha this is morocco a muslim country
astaghuf lah l3adim
ok i have one question seriously whats the point of that pic ???

looolll samia … i was wonderin the same thing :S
if only she showed her boo** or a** i would understand it

well i can see why this is related, because its another case that is extreme and indefensible, yet brings up issues that i think are valid

i am not a stupid person who will say that you have the right to say or show anything-- there are limits to freedom of expression no doubt…there was a lot of stuff in that movie it was like why is it in here? was the point to make a statement about inter-religious relationships in morocco? because it didnt work…all i got was dont drink and drive fast cars…a lot of scenes didnt fit together i agree:

this is probably the best description i ever heard for that movie! i mean who the hell lives like that…well the bottom line is we all know some people that live like that actually in morocco, it is not (in my opinion) an unrealistic portrayal of how ppl like this live their lives in morocco, this is why i said there were some interesting things to learn from the movie…please excuse me…lli bghit n9ol in iwa mtafa9 m3ak lsociete du maghreb societe islami…wa lakin fiha nass 3achin bla akhla9, bla din…chi maoujoud f maghreb…w lreaction dialak bghiti tghat dik l7ala…alach asa7bi, nass ma9adirinch ychoufouha w 3arafouha 3eib w kheib? ou maytfarajou biha ila matybghouch ytfarajou blmoskha… so make films that portray the part of morocco you want to show, or support the films that do this. try to hide someone elses film and viewpoint wont help, its a negative reaction not positive.

there are a diversity of experiences lifeways languages in morocco, you cant say they speak french so their not moroccan

now you know how i feel almost every time any movie comes out in the US :wall:

well if this is what you think is the right thing to say/do then i can’t argue with you…thats your way. but for me thats not the answer that makes the world a better place.

though she showed a lot of innapropriate things, those things do exist, and she did not in my opinion glorify them, it was clear to see how f*****d up this girl was when she interrupted her brother praying bc she wants some jeans…the movie also shows more than just the vapid lives of elites in casa, when the boy comes home mn kharij and yea he is happy to see his mom but he is more happy to see the lady that raised him, thats the servant, the servants and drivers in the movie show an interesting counter balance to the life that those others are leading, good sense, dependable, loving. what i took away from that movie was just more disgust with the lives some people can live…and i think that the director also has some feelings like that to show what she showed.

btw you were wondering about the title, i found: "Marock is a wordplay on ‘Maroc’, the French name for Morocco. For me, the title illustrates my portrait of this group of young people, privileged but also kind of messed up and schizophrenic. They live according to Western ways but they’re still very attached to their country and traditions. The opening scene in which a kneeling man prays outside a parked car where inside two teenagers are making out: that’s Marock.’ - Laïla Marrakchi

oww nice to know that

No, it shouldn’t be hidden, but not this way, not sex scenes & kisses & bull caca.

well if this is what you think is the right thing to say/do then i can’t argue with you…thats your way. but for me thats not the answer that makes the world a better place.
That was what people who saw the movie told me, i didn’t say it should be executed. maybe just locked up.

It happened that i’ve been present in the environment of those people for a short period of my life (due to my previous occupation), i saw how they live, i entered their houses (villas), i ate their foods, i entered their bedrooms their toilets their kitchens…sit on thier desks…muslims, jews, french…u can say that i lived my own Marock…fortunately didn’t see any sex scenes.

Did i say “locked up” ? i changed my mind to “cast out”

lol yalla 9arabna 3la itifa9iat lsalam lol…matafi9 m3ak iwa :okay:…and what is your opinion of this:

Those traditional relations & featuring such servants & drivers & janitors characters’ maybe a nice thing, but still does not justify the other disasters.

Don’t have much to say exept that Layla perhaps was trying to immitate Inas Deghidi <— Egyptien female director, so famous with her immoral scenes…acting za3ma jor2a, & Layla wanted to act jor2a too !!!

enas al deghidi is an extreme, she shows homosexuality i heard in some of her films…but i know too she made a movie about hymen (virginity) surgery…its supposed to be very sad and it’s apparently made to look like a very hard thing with tragic consequences…its something that is a big problem and issue for some young women in egypt…i dont know how i feel about it…of course i feel that it shouldnt be in a movie theater or on a poster outside…but i also think that there would be a benefit from addressing these problems and issues that DO EXIST in the society more out in the open.
