so what do u want to say about it? as a movie i thought the plot sucked, some things unrealistic, acting was OK, soundtrack was pretty cool actually.
as an overall statement in the ‘war of morality’ in which there is
just no other way !!
obviously it pushed some boundaries
as what you can see about culture i think there are a lot of interesting things in that film
Dialogue: included too much swearing & failthy expressions & meanings.
Plot: it has no plot at first place, the movie is a bunch of events of the empty daily life of a very empty minded portion of the society.
Religion: in many spots in the movie, the religion is being massively stepped on. the first/opening scene for example !
Porn: Catastrovic sex scene is included, besides kissing scenes
Scenes & shots: many occasions contained disrespectful acts, in addition to disrespectful wear by girls & so on…
Language: aproximately 90% of the dialogue is french. that alone is a “moseba”, it’s supposed to be a Moroccan movie…the title says that !
Title: Maroc + Rock (Morocco rocks), <— perhaps ! i can’t find other definitions, unless Layla means thet we should Rock & make an earthquake in Moroccan & Islamc “stupid” (astaghfirullah) tradition.
Director: Layla Mrrakshi is a typical “femme du Maroc” ! i didn’t watch any other works by her, but Marock is enough to tell, in fact the sex scene alone is enough.
Briefly, what’s above is the elements of a cheap Holywood movie, not a movie that shows Morocco to the world.
Many guys were interested to watch it, all because they heard about the porn scenes & stuff, but after watching they all told me the same : “Layla must be executed”
