i wanted to get this through my friends head but i didnt want to seem like i was arguing
i was a little put down at first but then i thought ‘hey, in time and with hard work i’ll be multilingual, i just wasn’t meant to be so yet’
you know i don’t totally agree that ignorance is speaking one language… there are people out there who speak only 1 language but they speak it so advanced and amazingly that they actually have more knowledge in one language than somebody who speaks 3 languages does. that didn’t sound so coherent but you get the idea 
and of course there are people, who i know personally, that speak one language but don’t even manage to speak that properly, you girls are way ahead of that, you speak English fabulously and you’re so enthusiastic about other languages too, and you know so much about a lot of other things, ie. you two are nowhere near ignorant

i didnt really agree either, that’s why i wanted to ask the intelligent people of SM what they thought
ignorance is not knowing something and not letting yourself learn what you lack knowledge of
like you said many smart people with so much they know only speaking one language arent considered ignorant (not through my eyes)
so why measure ignorance with language, language is a way of communication, and yes communicating with many different people will expand your knowledge in some way or another
