Exercise 11 - Practice Arabic Reading (MSA)

Thanks nuwarra, but I see 3nwan ? Could that mean address?

You’re welcom!! The 3ain is with a damma (u). Yes, it means Adress.

Nuwwara just made a typo in a previous post, there is an N indeed.
So yes, 3unwân means address. This word is used as it is in MSA in Darija as well.

Read the MSA word:
[large]???[/large]

Oh sorry, but Marilyn got it right and put the nun in again.

syar but again help what is the meaning???

You missed the Ta marbuta at the end and the ya is with schadda and you have to put vowels in it. So it’s sayyâra. This time it’s harder, because that word isn’t used in Moroccan, there is a word used that sound very close to the German word for it  It’s something technical

thanks nwwara but what is a shadda, an accent??

A schadda doubbles the letter, yah and waw have to be a consonant if they have a schadda with them. Also you have to have a vowel with the letter before and after it.

Is ??? = car ?

Yes!

ok try this one

Next:
[large]???[/large]

Could it be
srir 1. scaffolding, 2. bed (sleeping)

(Harrell’s Dictionary)

Yes, it’s sarîr. There is a fat7ah over sîn.

Nuwwara, you’re doing a good job monitoring this exercise, keep it up ;). You wouldn’t even need me!
(Typica spelling for your schadda, I liked it :)).
Thank you Hiba, as well.

Next:
Read and guess the meaning of the MSA word:

[large]???[/large]

I put the short vowels as well, but slight chances that you can see them without making the font bigger.

you’re welcome SM

office ?

Thank you everybody for this exercise :^^:

Yes, lisec, it’s office. But you forgot the part about reading the word ;).

Oh sorry !

maktab

Right !

Next:
[large]???[/large]
