English to Darija Exercises

sebtini? i’ve never heard of sucha word lol :stuck_out_tongue:
chouf ghadi n3tik taman zwin ( since taman is masculin )
and i prefer to use mezian rather than zwin …

another alterative is : chouf, an3tek taman mezian
is the one i always remember ndirou m3ak taman hhhhh?..thats pry what you will hear a lot

so true ach, i go to the market and that’s what i hear most of the time :stuck_out_tongue:

ok the expressions u used both were good but the verbs were wrong
we dont say 3ndi ksida …
we say : ndir ksida

so the whole thing is : 9errebt ndir ksida / 3la chwya mandir ksida / 3la bount mandir ksida …

‘‘i was about to sleep when u knocked the door’’

sebtini = l9itini … used a lot in the region of dukkala ( dunno about the other regions )

i would have never thought of “9errebt” since when i use it i think of “almost” and i always try to translate everything exactly
the first two i should’ve known

so 9errebt/3la chwya could mean “i was about” or something ???

could l9itini could mean something other than “you found me” ?

1- yes

2- i dont think it has another meaning

okayyy, so for the new sentence would this work:
9errebt nhas men d9iti f lbab

yes? no? maybe so?

nhas !!! u mean n3ess with a ‘‘3’’
everythin was ok just change ‘‘9errebt’’ with the other alternatives to make it a 100% darija :^^:

gah, i always do that for some reason, my bad :stuck_out_tongue:

so it would be: 3la chwya n3ess men d9iti f lbab

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah just add ‘‘ma’’ before n3ess
ur doin well mimiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

oh okayy :stuck_out_tongue:

pshhh, yeah right, but thanks anyways

im sure ull surprise ur mom

hhhhhhhhh why dont u translate this yallah

ma 9adrt njowb lik, foumi 3mr blmakla! :neu:

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh good excuse lollll ur not typing with ur mouth , r u ?

hahahaha, so much for having a good excuse…phooey

ok im gonna help u

to surprise = faje2 ( u gotta conjugate it :stuck_out_tongue: )

great, conjugation, that was probably my worst weakness in spanish class

this is all i could come up:
____ ghadit faje2i mamak

it’s pretty disappointing… :stuck_out_tongue:

its pretty goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooodddd

ill give u the whole thing  : ana mt2eked ghadi tfaje2i mamak
ill ask u about ‘‘im sure’’ in the future … u better take notes :stuck_out_tongue:

you’re just saying that!!! and if you never told me “ana mt2eked” i would have never thought it up myself
it’s so odd how language works, i could understand so much when people talk yet i cant spit a clear sentence out, what’s with that? :hm:

yes sir, especially since i have such a bad memory when it comes to these things :stuck_out_tongue:
i blame it on my darija-block though!!
