Alright, that said, it’s a game. Don’t ask me where the name comes from, I am clueless.
Here is how it goes: There is me, you, Medjri, Marocrulz, and tukha playing. (Randomly picked the last names of this thread :hap:, anyone’s welcome to join). So we have to pick up the one who will start. Girl sing little cute songs to eliminate players until one last person remains, and starts 7aba. Boys would probably just agree and start playing. So let’s say I am the one starting. You all have to run, and I chase you. Who ever I get to touch, I tell him/her 7aba fik, and it’s his turn to chase us back. There start the little arguments of 7aba fik, and 7aba fiyya not, you didn’t even touch me.
Your probably have an American version of it.

We call it ‘tag’, and a variant on it is ‘freeze tag’, where, when you are tagged (touched) you have to freeze, just like you are… … and the poor little creature who is “it” has to catch everyone that way, if I am not mistaken. I can’t remember how the next ‘it’ is chosen… getting toooo old.
Yes, an international game, I think. In Denmark it is called ‘tik’, which is what you say when you touch the person.At least, that was the case in the 40’s and 50’s when I grew up in Denmark.
Lisec, as English is a Germanic Language (and so is Danish) I’m guessing that we are looking at the same root in ‘tag’ and ‘tik’; what do you think? And, Nuwwara, what about you?
