A to Z words in Darija (game)

OK mr.Correction, what does urdi mean???

ANd Abdelfatah Greeny (moroccan) has a nice song called wala eih wala eih, but he sings in masry dialect anyway. so its wla in darija ok.

Hrrrrrrmpf, yes I know, Papers, because I got it from SpeakMoroccans Youtube colour video - it’s just a spelling variation (because I couldn’t think of anything else). :albert: Wardi/Ouardi/Uardi=pink. Nuf said.

:flag:

So, where were we? Yalla. Yôm.

Z - zero (zer0), zin (beautiful, good), zemmem (write, note)

l3afou- well i guess the translation would be ‘the forgiveness’, meaning His forgiveness…how would we translate this or when would we say this in morocco ya PB…

L’3fo: it does mean forgiveness, but for the common sense in Darija, it means release/free/put off/get rid (of sth).
when you say “l’3fo”, it’s short form for l3fo ya Allah = O God ! take this away from me. (close to the meanings i saidabove).
It’s said when you’re tired/fed up with something & want it to end. like if you’re addict to smoke or sth…

7 - 7mar (donkey), 7mam (peagons), 7arr (hot/pepper)

9alb (heart), Qur’an, 9amr (moon). And 9ahr which I don’t know what it means…

But I’m starting to learn a lot with this game :ok: :smiley:

i think 9ahr is sadness/madness, i don’t know for sure though… just guessing :smiley:

It’s 9amar or 9mr, not 9amr.

9ahr = defeat / beat

B - babour (boat/ship)
