Three years ago I had an idea: why not? Darija could be a language that has rules like any other language.
Right now I’m an resercher, working on this project.
But for me, the most important thing is that Darija becomes a standard language, so we can use it in many fields like AI, science, and communication.

Your idea sounds really interesting! Could you share more about your project?

I could be totally wrong on this, but instead of classifying it as a dialect of Arabic, I’ve always thought of Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian as branches of one distinct language.
Calling them a dialect of Arabic has always been wild to me, considering, for example, their mutual intelligibility with Saudi Arabic being about 10-20%. Compare this with the ~90% mutual intelligibility between Bulgarian and Macedonian - which officially are considered different languages.
Darija is such a beautiful and unique spoken language, with rules for such. I’d love to see it expanding and receiving the reverence it deserves! As a non-Moroccan, I deeply admire natives and cannot imagine how challenging it must be going through school and having to translate each thing you learn from French/Arabic to your native tongue. Or going to a restaurant/bank/cafe/government institution - and people from your own country, insisting to speak to you in a language that you cannot understand. I’m glad to see efforts for honoring and preserving Tamazight languages, and I’d be super happy to see the same for Darija.
