lol nooooo u brits have absolutely no method of categorising stuff :stuck_out_tongue: a hat is way different to a beanie, a hat doesn’t keep your brain warm but a beanie does

wa salamzzzzzzzzz
giggles… sheep graze in open places in the city. It’s quite a sight! And his mother has at least 14 sheep skins that we sit on on a daily basis. They’re REALLY soft!!

And it’s Dee or Diane  … or frenchize it = dianne … asifa I didn’t introduce myself properly … brain dead seems to be the only gear my brain knows right now.

I’m liking this place a lot and you’re all very welcoming … wish my studying was bearing fruit for darija :frowning: sloooowwwww goez it

aaaaaah bssa7? so cuddle the sheep skins
haha “we sit on on a daily basis” makes it seem like it’s your chore or something xD i can’t deny that i laughed when i read that.

 nice to meet you Dee, and i’m Aicha, or aysha or aisha or ayoosha, whatever’s your cup of tea  and don’t apologise, you can go straight to the New Members section and start bragging on about yourself when you feel like it  not that you would normally brag on, in fact you’re probably quite humble & modest :stuck_out_tongue: but bragging is the general expectation of the forum from the newcomers… jk

your studying WILL bear fruit sis, trust me you will learn soooooo much, my advice to u is to open up a word document on your computer with the list of all the new stuff u learnt, darija on one side and the english translation on the other and you’ll gradually add new stuff every time u come across it, read them at least once a day and then use them with your hubby and his family, like that you’ll practice how to pronounce them + you’ll carve them into that little executive up there  + most importantly you’ll impress everyone
i’ve been in this forum for more than a year and i’ve learnt heaps from the awesome crew, the problem is that im studying at the same time which makes my learning slow as i can’t focus but if u stick around and be updated with the translation section i’m sure you’ll go from “Hi how are you”, to writing essays in darija  inchallah! If you can’t always practice with your Moroccan family, you can try practising online with darija speakers, it helps a lot too.

and that’s the end of my PHD thesis, sorry for the lengthy reply. Good luck!!!
salam
