Say "Salam" & "besslama" :)

I think there’s multiple invisible forces

‘A thousand splendid suns’

Not even a thousand words would suffice to begin to explain how magnificent this book was…lost for words

@ mini, nawwwww dont say that, you’re a strong and smart cookie, you’ll be fine inshallah, we know you can get through your stuff and stand strong  i mean come onnnnnn you survived through times of Swine Flu, Mad cow disease, Bird Flu. i’m sure assignments won’t kill ya  du3a is the key love, and the little executive u got up there is pretty talented too so ma3liiiiiiich

@ gretch, achmn interruption stop saying that benty you’re welcome here, wa 3laykum assalam

@ mimi, you girls need to stop talking about mental institutions, if life is giving u too much (and your lecturers too), just give yourself a break, despite the consequences… for instance, i cbs going to uni today although i have a lecture, coz i totally need a BREAK so i ain’t going… i’d rather miss a class than go mad from an overload of information

w finally, salaaaaaaaaaaaaaam

omg u finished it already? wow

@lalla: wa khatiy, kolchi tla liya f rass walakin ghadin 3aich 7yati  im just going through life and that’s all i can do. the weekends are the few days i have some time to relax, but work work work, its all a part of life, nothing can change that. and when life and school starts become more than just a drag i sit back with some iced tea outside with my stereo blasting some Sugar Ray and fly away into my own little world…which i’ll definitely be doing soon since spring break is coming up and im pretty hyped!!!

@mini: it was so good you couldnt put it down, am i right? there was probably some invisible force gluing your eyes to the pages, hmm? lol

that is the life  but ummmm… sugar ray is rock right?? i fear it will worsen your sanity :stuck_out_tongue: i hate rock music lol… but sara7a i’ve never listened to any of their stuff so i can’t judge without knowing… might look 'em up pretty soon

Lol thanx girls I shall now walk into uni a new person…dats b4 I enter my lecture and den fall asleep lol

Omg yes I couldn’t put it down!!! It was amaaaaaaazin!!! Like nth I’ve read…I’m still in awe wallah sucha a saaaad book :frowning: wanna read more 4rm him!!

@lalla: it is, but its the kinda rock that makes you feel good, they’re a band from the '90s and i still have a taste for their music. i dont like rock either, i cant stand it sometimes, but i wouldnt say sugar ray is rock even though they’re classified as that, but some of their songs are too much rockish and im not so into those. (one of my favorite songs by them is Someday)

@mini: i feel yah! it really grasped you and pulled you into this pit of emotion and in the end i felt good/sad but i also couldnt stand that it was ending…the author either needs to write a new book pronto or i need to find a book just as good!

I know I know wallah I know :hap: I was stricken when I realised it was finished I love how the author starts with Mariam and ends with her…awwww man he’s just wicked
I looked at da bak of da book and dey gave some refrences for other books similar to it, one of them was of an author called Yasmina Khadra- I read one of his other works, set in Palestine so his other book ‘Swallows in Kabul’ will be interestin too so I think ama go book huntin :hap:

you got that right!!! i’m thinking of going for a book hunt myself…
right now all i’ve been reading in my spare time is comic books and they dont seem to be enough for me!

K u find a good book u tell me, I find a good book ill tell u deal? :hap:

sounds like a plan

Da prob is dat all da good books are da ones dat hit u square in da heart :hm: they’re heartbreakin to read but they turn out to be the ones that leave u in awe long after you’ve turned da last page  m3leich n7ab kutub kima hada 3la khatr they entertain but carry a deep message within :hap:

so true…books that take you into the story and that you relate to are always good
books take you into the mind of someone else and into a world you’ve never been to before or that doesnt even exist and so on, which is why i love books so much :hap:

we told u so  it’s amazing, and i think all books about Afghanistan are interesting, minus the stupid exaggeration and bias they’re pretty emotional… i wanna read ATSS for the second time inshallah

oh im defo gonna read it a 2nd time it just has to be read another time

i’ve already started re-reading it since we’ve been talking about it :stuck_out_tongue:

yayy lets all start at the same time

that sounds nice, and then we can discuss it as we go
i’ve always wanted to do something like that  but most of my friends hate reading

so when’s “the same time”?

lol poor thing, same here

well when mini comes we’ll decide, we all have diff time zones so… dont think we can agree on a specific time, maybe a specific day

I know we all have major time zones I dnt mind re-readin it at all coz its just 2 good
Its unbelieveble da differences btw Laila and Mariam, they both end up being forced into marriage some wayy and another but Laila obviously has the happier childhood and happier ending  dya think Mariam died a happy woman? (Its hard 2 say coz of da execution but knowin she was gonna die, did she die a lonely miserable woman?)
I think not…
