I don’t understand the difference between santimat and darahim.

I know that there is 20 rial in 1 dirham and 5 rial f 100 santim

But I still don’t know what a santim is. Is it the equivalence of pence or cents and if so how come it is not on moroccan currency?

Santim is Cents or Centimes (in french)

Ryal is 5 Cents,
dirham is 100 Cents (santim) or 20 ryal (20 x 5 cents = 100 cents).
