rai, that was AWESOME! i enjoyed it so much
where is she originally from? i love her singing so much! and that tune sounds a bit like abdel kader sometimes (and i love that SO much) yaaaay xD is it an old or new video? and she is so pretty machallah!
help me, here is my attempt at translating the lyrics
OK bear with me:
trani mshawweg yamma i’m missing; i know “yamma” is just like ‘oh’

bledi bledi aaah
aaah ya bledi
bledi bledi bledi bledi
aaah ya bledi
bledi bledi bledi bledi
wa7chtni bledi****

some things to say/ask:

  • twa7cht bledi, i translated as “i’m missing my country”
really, should that be just “i miss my country”, cos if it was missing, it would be really “kantw77ch bledi”?
because you add ka- if it’s continuous, right?

** SHE SAYS TRAH!!! ISN’T IT JUST RAH? i guess that’s another way to say it, right? or i’ve got it all wrong? or she has? joke :stuck_out_tongue:
so does it matter if you say rani or trani, or rah or trah, or whatever?

*** w3ar, i guessed is so big, seeing as wa3r(a) is amazing?

**** OMG. egyptians say “wa7echitni awi” so “i missed you loads” and it took me ages to understand that with moroccan it’s the other way round, so “wa7chetni” in maroc would be “YOU missed ME” and now SHE’S SAYING “WA7CHTNI BLEDI”?!?!?! is she saying “my country misses me” or something??

SHE IS LEBANESE! Explains y some words are mispronounced
