I am trying to differentiate when dchicha (tchicha) refers to cracked wheat, and when it refers to barley grits (belboula). For example, I come across dchicha soup recipes which call for wheat, and others which use barley. I also see dchicha in reference to couscous made with barley.

Is this a regional thing? Does the word dchicha have a broader meaning?
