A translation request

Hi… just a couple questions on these lines from that translation up there…

Janat, nti dayra b7al ssma foq ss7ra
Fommk b7al wrda dyal ss7ra

What do those words “dayra” and “dyal” mean? I mean how do they function in those sentences?

Dayra basically mean: doing (feminine singular). Like in “Ki dayra?” when you ask a girl “how are you doing”. But when you combine dayra with b7al (like), then it means: look like.
Sometimes, it may also means prentending.
Example: “When I entered the room, sheft-ha dayra b7al ila na3sa z3ma” (… I saw her faking to sleep).

Dyal means of. We use it for posession.
Wrda dyal ss7ra = A rose of desert.
Lktab dyal Autumn = The book of Autumn/ Autumn’s book.
Dyali = Mine.
Dyalk = yours.

I hope it’s clear :).

Thanks, SM, that helps a lot.

And just one more I keep seeing/hearing. What does “milyun” mean?

Doesn’t it sound like million? :wink: Just “arabize” the way of prunouncing L, and you’ll see that it’s the same word.
