What is your current favorite song?

"Slow down you crazy child; you’re so ambitious for a juvenile, but then, if you’re so smart, tell me, why are you still so afraid? Where’s the fire? What’s the hurry about? You better cool it off before you burn it out. You’ve got so much to do and only so many hours in a day. But you know, when the truth is told, that you can get what you want or you can just get old. Dream on, but don’t imagine they’ll all come true. Why don’t you realize Vienna waits for you?

Slow down; you’re doing fine. You can’t be everything you want to be before your time although it’s so romantic on the borderline tonight. Too bad, but it’s the life you lead; you’re so ahead of yourself that you forgot what you need. 'Though you can see when you’re wrong, you know, you can’t always see when you’re right. You’re right. You’ve got your passion; you’ve got your pride… but don’t you know that only fools are satisfied? You’re gonna kick off before you even get half way through… When will you realize Vienna waits for you?

Slow down you crazy child; take the phone off the hook and disappear for awhile… It’s alright; you can afford to lose a day or two. Why don’t you realize Vienna waits for you? When will you realize… Vienna waits for you?

Nice. Here’s a youtube video which adds a bit of music to the lyrics.

Bravo ya Maarten! Can you get, “Italian Restaurant”? …Brenda and Eddy were the popular steadies and the king and the queen of the prom driving around with the car top down and the radio on. Nobody looked any finer; the talk of the town at the beach side diner, and we never knew we could want more than that out of life… Surely Brenda and Eddy would always know how to survive…Brenda and Eddy were still going steady in the summer of seventy five when they announced that the wedding would be at the end of July. Everyone said they were crazy; "Oh, Brenda you know that you’re much too lazy, and Eddy could never afford to lead that kind of life…"oohhh, but there we were waving Brenda and Eddy goodbye… Well, they got an apartment with deep pile carpet and a couple of paintings from Sears, and a big water bed that they bought with the bread that they had saved for a couple of years, but the money got tight and they started to fight and they just didn’t count on the tears. oooh, oooh…;Brenda and Eddy had had it already by the summer of seventy five. From the high to the low to the end of the show for the rest of their lives. They couldn’t go back to the greasers; no! The best they could do was pick up their pieces, and we always knew they would both find a way to get by. Ooohh, and that’s all I heard about Brenda and Eddy; can’t tell you more 'cause I told you already, and there we were waving Brenda and Eddy goodbye…

I’ll meet you anytime you want in our Italian Restaurant (mukhtaser kayma lqeyti Vienna, an Thathr al 3ayn)

prego!
and for the music enthousiasts among us; don’t forget these 3 classics from the same artist:

and surely someone else has a song they like; I hate to monopolize.

At the moment i am hooked onto “Insomnia” by Craig David, although it’s a bit of a pointless song i find it motivating while doing gym.

How about “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”?

“Don’t talk to me about Mohammad” by Dawud Wharnsby, makes me tear in the end

You know, that song (By Dawud Wharnsby) confused me at first, then i understood the story after a few listens… i am a fishbrain sometimes… :hap:

Anyway at the moment, i really like Tell Me by Wissam, it’s a song for Palestine, really good beat + message.

I was going to post the video of the song here but it’s a bit too graphic (the photos), they contain some disturbing stuff.
If you’re still interested though, punch in “wissam tell me” on youtube and a video of the song comes up titled “Palestine rap”.

Salam

Here listen & see the lyrics  the first few seconds (sounds like Indian) ain’t part of the song, it’s just added by the video owner.

Ever heard of the ‘Mozart effect’? It’s a scientific research result which indicates that listening to classical music improves your intelligence.
I’ve never cared for classical music myself. Until last week. I’ve either developped a (sudden) refined taste for art or I’m just getting old. Either way, I came across a composition which is called ‘Sonatine - 1 - Modéré’ by Maurice Ravel.

Care for an IQ boost? Here you go.
And while you’re listening; some vocabulary items:

art: el-fenn
artist: fennan
music: musiqa
musician: musiqi
melody: neghma
song: ughniya / ghennaya
chant: ghna
listen to the music: tSennet l-el musiq
instrument: ala
voice: Sawt
rhythm: iqa3
songtext: kalimat
composer: mule77in
popular music: el-musiqa sh-she3biya
classical music: el-musiqa el-klasikiya

since you started to care about classicals, have you ever listened to “the four seasons” & “the nutcracker” ?

the four seasons by Antonio Vivaldi are 4 beautiful pieces: Autumn, Winter, Spring & Summer…
& the nutcracker is one of the greatest hits i’ve fallen for  ,it’s a bunch of dances by Peter.I.Tchaikowsky…you can find playlits on youtube, type the nutcracker ballet suite :okay:
